Comments: When we got on the old west days train at Inchon and we were brushing the straw on the roofs of the hooches. Then checking out all those good looking ladies.I thought what did I do to deserve this. I didn't realize at that time that I would grow up and learn more in the next year than I would in any other year of my life. I wouldn't trade my tour in Korea for nothing. After we got to the compound. my first job was as the loader on a M48a2c Med.Tank. It wasn't hardly a month and I was moved up to being the drive. After about three months our SFC tank commander rotated and they didn't have a replacement. I was the ranking PFC on the tank so guess what job I got. I was only there for about two months and we got a 2nd leut. for a new TC. Lt. Luff .We all called him fuzz. He even heard us once and didn't say anything. Everyone thats been there knows those girls I mentioned get prettier and prettier the longer you are there. The worst of our tour was when we sat on top of a mountain for nine days wondering if we were going to war. That was the year the cease fire was up and the cuban blockade was going on at the same time. Well I hope some guys I was there with sees this and contacts me tks. R.D.

Comments: Mickey Mouse Corners,,,,Pobwon-Ni. Camp Snow was our home. Great duty although one of the coldest places I have ever been. The field duty and "alerts" we were put on is forever etched in my mind." Slickey Boys", House Boys, and Tea Houses as well. Went there as a "projo" assembly man for the Honest John Rockets, but was quickly and fortunately asked to join the Survey group and I will always be thankful for that. Would love to hear from anyone in that area in that time frame.

Comments: Oct 60-May 61: Basic and intermediate speed radio operator school at Ft Jackson, SC. Arrived via troop ship (Patrick) at Inchon. Assigned to 1st BG, 5th Cav, Camp McGovern. We called it RC2 in those days. Villiage outside camp was Nop'a-dong. Spent lot of time on field exercises, following a Major around the country side with a PRC-25 on my back. Later worked in a RATT rig. Spent tours up on Easy Block with the radio relay station. Lots of fun in the winter. We hunted deer and had nice visits from the locals up on that mountain. Extended 3 extra months for the Cuban crisis. Assigned to Ft Campbell upon return to states. Returned on the Patrick. Got to know that ship pretty good.

Comments: Our outfit was located just north of the Imjin River over the Freedom Bridge. On the road north, our company was the first camp on the right - motor pool across the road. I don't remember the name of the camp ?? A hilltop above our camp looked down on the Injin, the bridge to the west. I think the govt. has done a good job of keeping silent on what happened in that area at that time. Very difficult to get information or documentation. Hope someone can help out.
